I want to welcome everyone and share my appreciation that this was the aligned choice for you to make for how to spend your evening. For those of you who are new to this gathering, I’ll just give a brief introduction. So what is this and what are we doing? It’s pretty simple. We are gathering together. We are gathering online, and I’m grateful to get to see your beautiful faces, and we are joining together in an actual space that is created outside of time or in other words in the landscape of the unseen. It is alive and ongoing. In this space, we create a container to hold our dreams and intentions which we fill with love and intelligence again and again, always available to return to. Here we bring our focus to a specific group or individual or landscape and through the technology of stepping back, getting out of the way, and allowing what naturally wants to arise, consciously or not, we offer our availability and attention. It is really this simple. There is no agenda or request. It is simply choosing to show up as who we truly are - beings of love that receive and radiate in togetherness. When we gather and offer our open attention towards a specific event or individuation or landscape we amplify the potential for new possibilities and outcomes and care to arrive.
We are gathering tonight looking towards a very potent time. Whether you approach this astrologically or ancient prophecies or your own felt sense it seems there’s agreement that February 17 is a significant portal amplifying the changes that are underway. One arrival to this confluence of potency is the beginning of the year of the Fire Horse. It is to the horse that I invite us to offer our availability and attention tonight.
There’s a great deal of emphasis put on the astrological fire influencing the time ahead (Aries) and there’s an emphasis put on the fire aspect of the Fire Horse for the coming year ahead. Yes, there will be fierce and quick energy rising at this time. But I want to also make mention of the nature of fire, which is fundamentally heart connection. This brings with it the capacity for deep listening, communication, compassion, clarity, transformation, warmth, tenderness and togetherness along side tremendous light and rising energy.
As always, we will come together having chosen to be available to create a space for allowing what is ready to arise and to offer our attention focusing on something moving through the collective. On this day, our focus is on the wild horses around the world. We will do this in honor of the beginning of the year of the Fire Horse and in response to the renewal of helicopter round ups of the wild herds and other horrendous policies decimating these herds. Tonight we will be adding a special fire offering to our gathering. Tonight we will be joined by Analesa Berg, who will share with us song for the horses.
When I first began to be available to the horses at the round ups, I was met by an extraordinary stallion who asked me to remind the horses to remember their song, and that they would always be connected through the song of the horse to their herd. They would never be alone or abandoned as they faced what their life was to become.
As Paulette Clark says in Living The Horse, horses have three essential needs. One absolutely essential need is their need to be in a herd. Increasingly in my work it is apparent that when this essential need is removed from both the wild horses, as well domestic horses, the greatest harm is inflicted on the horse. They are increasingly unable to access their natural self healing abilities and self regulation.
I’m sure that there are some indigenous people who can actually sing the song of the horse, but for most of us this is not accessible. However, I have come to realize that the song of the horse returns when someone sings their own song with profound authenticity, deep reverence, and deep listening. Analesa sings from her tradition of Jewish mysticism with such alignment to what is true and honest that whatever song is needed is revived in the hearts of those who listen and healing occurs. This song is offered to the herds through our presence in togetherness.
Tonight as Analesa sings, I invite you to allow and be available to what moves for you, as you and through you answering the call of your own heart and becoming the vessel to offer song to the horses. I invite this to arise in each of you uniquely as you are each called to be available to a different aspect of the horses experiences or to a different individual horse, herd, or location or perhaps your attention rests in your own heart. Song may arrive in celebration or to comfort through a unified message that says we see you. I have no doubt this will be of benefit for all.
We will begin with Analesa’s song followed by 18 minutes of silent attention, allowing whatever authentically arises for each of you. When we come back to our awareness of one another, you’re welcome to share something from your experience that you feel is a gift to the gathering.
Deep gratitude for you all.
